:hmm: As far as I know I've never had my work ripped off, thankfully. Sites that allow people to upload images will always wind up gathering stolen works. I mean, one look at the Polyvore terms of service show you are not allowed to submit works that are not your own.

People don't understand that it is a problem, it is illegal, and no matter what you're using it for, if the artist doesn't want you to do it, you cannot.
Art theft is always going to be a problem, especially on the internet, there's only so much we can do, I figure.

Though I'd like to make mention your piece is no longer there, which would mean someone listened. Personally if my work was stolen and just shown around, without credit to me, I'd simply ask for a link back to my deviantART gallery, but if someone was selling it...
I'd go medieval on their ass. And then I'd take the legal route. I'm not sure which would be more damaging, really. Hehe.

Cheers, dear.

the main problem is, and that is where "communities" like polyvore comes into play: there is a decent demand on hobby image-edit enthusiasts, that don´t want to have big photoshop and want to play with iphone..

i didn´t get the most things there either, as long if they don´t make money of it - who cares...

if they do, there is only a question of time until a lot publisher sents lawsuits to ban this page- but it needs to be of public interrest first...

as long as there is not such an industry interrest such as with "pirate-bay" another "who cares"

sad but true...

right my whole entire issue is just this, would you go into an art gallery remove something from the wall, paste crepe paper and color on it with finger paints and then claim it as your own? you know what i am saying... it is just a frustrating epidemic, people think because the web is our forum this gives them some kind of right to our hard work
